Crazy Week
(This journal entry might have been delayed - there is a severe windstorm where we live and it looks like my journal site is down. Mom said I shouldn't even be on the computer! Drats!) Wow, has this been a crazy week! I wish I could have posted in my journal more. Yesterday Mom didn't get home from work until 7:30! We were sure wondering where she was! That's good news though, because then she will be able to buy really neat things for us ratties for Christmas!
Mom wanted to take pictures of the boys this week so you could see how big they are getting, but they would have none of it. Mom couldn't get them to stay still whatsoever. When Mom goes to visit Uncle she will get her aquarium back, and then she can take good pictures of the boys for you. Grandma is getting Mom a food-scale for Christmas, so that we can weigh the boys and see how heavy they are getting. It will be interesting to see how much heavier they are than us girls!
Today we got to romp in the computer room again, where Mom takes our pictures. She finally got a good picture of Ash today. Ash doesn't like to hold still for any reason. When she sees the camera, she stretches toward it and bobs her nose around, trying to sniff it! It makes Mom laugh, and then the camera is jiggling so much that she has to give up! Ash was determined to find out how Ember gets down so fast. She followed her around the back of the cage, but by the time she got there, Ember was already gone, running amock all over Mom's computer desk!
There's rumor going around AlcatraTz that Mom saw a wild rat outside, living in her recycle bin, and it's a girl. This, of course, has the boys talking ever so much. A strange girl rattie in the neighborhood? TeeHee! I'm not sure what Mom can possibly do about it. But this time she isn't telling anyone - she doesn't mind the little rattie girl getting a full belly of leftovers; and besides, the last time she said she saw a rat out there, someone put a trap and killed him! Gasp!!! I told you about Mom's computer desk didn't I? Well! See for yourself! I hope Ember doesn't hurt herself in all that stuff!
Since the Christmas holidays are nearing and humans have to do all that Christmas holiday stuff, I'm not sure how often I'm going to be able to get Mom to take pictures for me. But, I promise I will stare longingly at her every day with my bright, black eyes, and beg her to at least try.
Ember discovered Mom's hat today. She spent a lot of time inside it where it was dark and soft. She hopped into the kleenex box again today, but she only stuck her sweet little head out for a moment, and Mom's camera didn't get the picture. After that she came rushing out, as if she had discovered a Kleenex-Box Monster! Of all us ratties, Ember, my daughter, is definitely the flightiest. She knocks things over herself then runs away as if something were out to get her! But she's also the only one who comes out of our cage when we're in the computer room, because Ash and I know how dangerous it is. I guess that makes Ember both fearful - and fearless! TeeHee! |
