Communication
Connie wrote in my Guestbook that she noticed my Ying-Yang pattern. Mom thought so too, that's why she used those preggo-pictures of me for my graphics. Thanks, Connie! Today I had Mom get a picture of my right side for you. I just can't emulate being pregnant again. Drats... or maybe not! I think Mom is losing it. She called to talk to Angela today - and Angela said that if Mom showed her baby rats to someone there on a Saturday, then it couldn't have been her. But when Mom had called up last Sunday and asked who was there on a Saturday that would have seen my boys. And they had said "Angela." Mom was thinking it was 'Amanda', so 'Angela' sounded close enough.
Come to find out from Angela that the person Mom must have talked to was Vanessa. Vanessa wasn't there today, and won't be back in until Friday! Mom was a bit irritated at that, because when she called, the person said that Vanessa was there and she could answer any rat questions. But Mom wanted to stay with the person she'd talked to... or thought she talked to!
Needless to say, the boys are still home. Mom told me that she called that local pet store back, the one that screens heavily for anti-snake pet owners, and sells rats only in same-sex pairs. Apparently that lady will be in tomorrow. Mom says she's going to give her a call and find out if she can bring my boys in to that shop tomorrow. That pet shop sounded perfect, but there were two older male rats which the owner said "get sold together first, no matter what." Mom is going to try to convince her otherwise. Those two older males are probably never going to sell, especially not together. Anyway, the store owner would just be making money on my boys - so, what's the problem?!
Last night, in preparation for today, Daddy gave the boys a bath. When they boys were done (denoted by the number of little poopies floating around) Dad leaned forward, put all eight wet boys onto his back, carried them that way to the bedroom, and put them on a huge, fluffy towel on the bed. Wet or not, the boys wanted to explore, because they haven't been let loose on the bed before! TeeHee!
Mom cleaned their cage, replaced their box, and replaced their cardboard shelf. Last week sometime she changed their hammock because it was very stained and rat-chewed. Mom wanted the boys and their cage to be the very nicest-looking that they could possibly be.
The reason I named this entry "Communication" is because of all of it (or, sometimes, the lack thereof!) that has been going on recently. Mom read me a few emails that we got after I said that I might quit this journal. It sounds like you really like my journal, and don't want me to quit. Thank you. While I can't promise anything, I will try to keep it going. Maybe I can see if I can use Mom's computer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or something. I will try to work something out.
Also, Mom has told me about a wonderful friend she has met that lives close to our area. She has two Ratty girls that she got from a nearby PetCo - and suspects that they are both pregnant. Mom is really displeased with PetCo about this (so is her new friend). Mom says she intends to fix the PetCo Pregancy Problem as soon as the boys are safe in new homes. |
