If it looks like I'm uncomfortable, you're right;
Mom's hair is kinda slippery! Be sure to put your mouse over the pictures in this entry, and those to come. There's a little story in the text, and I wouldn't want you to miss anything! Yesterday and today the babes have been caught nibbling at my food bowl. I hope Mom puts more food in there on account of them starting to taste-test! When it came time for the photo-session tonight, Mom debated about leaving all the babes inside the cage or taking them out for better-quality pictures. She also installed a new webcam, and was eager to take photos of the babes with that - just to see what the quality would be like.
Well, it was actually Dad's webcam, which is better than Mom's webcam, but that's another story. So with all the stuff installed (I watched her reboot her computer some dozen times) she went and got my babes as I played on her keyboard and practiced typing. Once Dad got wind of what she was doing, it was like they were fighting over who could take better pictures of my babes! Dad and Mom were so busy aiming and shooting and squealing "oh, how sweet!" that they didn't even notice as one of the little black babes crawled silently away from the rest of the group - this, despite the fact that Mom had put them in this H-U-G-E stainless-steel bowl to try to keep them contained!
Good thing Mom always takes a head-count before she puts the babes away. In fact, she had them all on the couch earlier, meanwhile, I was playing in Daddy's newspaper. Mom had to get up for something, and Dad came in the room and hollered "there's a thousand baby rats on our couch!" Mom said not to worry, they were all there. Dad asked, "How do you know?" That's when Mom told him her secret. Count by colors. It's easier to spot three light ones, three brown ones and three black ones than it is to count nine moving targets! While Mom put me and my babes to bed, Dad was tasked to find the one escapee. Dad found the little dear about a foot away from where Mom had placed the huge bowl on the floor, curled up (and fast asleep) in some computer wires!
Well, I guess Daddy's pictures turned out really good, but Mom wanted me to put some pictures in taken from the webcam, so here goes:
See you tomorrow! |
