Mom and I were relaxing on the couch earlier tonight, and she was eating her sunflower seeds. Mom has been taking most of the sunflower seeds out of my food, and reserving them for my treat-cup only, because she read somewhere that sunflower seeds should only be treat material for me. Well! Let me tell you, once I discovered she was eating sunflower seeds, I would do just about anything to get one!

First, she would call my name and then show me that she had a seed for me, and then give it to me. The next time, she would call my name, show me the seed, and then make me climb on her lap. Then, I had to climb partway up her chest to get my reward!

After that, she pretty much made me take them from her lips. See, she doesn't want me eating her salted sunflower seeds, thinking that would be bad for me - so she only gives me sunflower seeds from which she's already taken the salt off.

Anyway, while I was busy begging Mom for a sunflower seed (usually by sniffing her ear), Dad was busy with the babes. Mom and Dad have noticed huge differences in the babes, tonight. First, they noticed that the dark ones are definitely darker than they were two days ago. Then Mom made a new discovery - each of the babes have whiskers! Mom says that you can see them with the naked eye, but not with the camera... at least, not yet.

Another thing Mom and Dad remarked on during tonight's photo session was how active the babes were! Mom lined them up in the "neat little row" that she thinks they will stay in, and only seconds later, this picture was taken! In this picture, there's no question of who will have dark fur, and who won't.

They are now such active little sweeties! It's funny, Mom and Dad thought I was abandoning a babe to a far corner, or breaking the group apart, before I fed them! Well! Now they finally know just how quickly my babes can move, and how fast a Mom Rat like me has to be to keep up with them all!

Case in point, these next two shots were taken mere seconds apart:

Hahah! Looks more like a wrestling match than a bunch of sweet 5-day-old Ratty babes! And look how long their little tails have gotten!

Oops, I've had enough out-time, and I need to feed these hungry loves.

But first, I want to thank my Grandma for signing my guestbook! If you raised as cool a person as my mom, you've got to be special!
